Mark Llewellyn

Mark Llewellyn Jr., P.E., LEED AP ND, is a Project Engineer with Genesis in Tallahassee. Genesis provides Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Planning, GIS and Urban Design services for private land developers, government agencies, institutions, and industrial clients throughout the southeast USA and internationally. Mark is a member of the transportation planning and design team, specializing in roundabouts and roadway planning and design.

Mark has served on the Florida Capital Region Chapter Board of Directors since 2013 as the Education Chair, and hosts monthly EduCasts for Chapter members to help them secure Continuing Education credits.

Mark obtained a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Florida State University. and strives to progress environmental sustainability through smart transportation and multi-modal design. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 2004 to 2012, and currently lives in Tallahassee Florida with his wife and daughter.

Robyn Flowers
Region Rep to USGBC Florida Board of Directors

Robyn Flowers, IIDA, is a Florida licensed interior designer with more than 24 years of experience. She began working at Accent Office Interiors after moving from Birmingham, Alabama eight years ago to be closer to her aging parents. Through practicing and teaching interior design, Robyn has developed a passion for sustainability and ageless accessibility which has expanded from a commercial and residential design focus to include nonprofit agencies such as Ability 1st, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Alzheimer's of Central Alabama. Robyn is a professional member of IIDA and a Board member of the USGBC Florida Capital Region Chapter, and has also served on IIDA Alabama and North Florida Chapter Boards from 2000 to the present.

Robyn strongly believes in giving back to her community in volunteer work and is a passionate advocate for accessibility and green-design solutions.

Christina Freeman
Immediate Past President

Christina Freeman, PE, is a Structural Engineer at the Florida Department of Transportation.  Christina works at the central office of FDOT in Tallahassee, designing innovative bridge and structures projects throughout Florida. Christina also assists in developing manuals, standards and design requirements.  She has been the project manager for several successful research reports funded by FDOT.  She also serves on the AASHTO/NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration committee. Christina has been an active volunteer for the USGBC Florida Capital Region Chapter since the nonprofit organization's inception in 2007.

Christina holds B.S. (2005) and M.S. (2007) degrees in Civil Engineering from Florida State University. Originally from Rockville, MD, Christina and her husband, Jamie, live in Tallahassee and enjoy rooting for the Seminoles and exploring the great outdoors.

Echo Gates
Board Member

Echo Gates, P.E., LEED AP, earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Civil Engineering degrees from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Upon graduation, she joined the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems, where she served as the Program Administrator for the Coastal Data Acquisition Section. Her responsibilities at FDEP included collecting and disseminating coastal data for Florida’s 825 miles of sandy beaches. For the past nine years, she has served as Associate Vice President at Genesis, a leading Florida Engineering and Planning firm, where she has managed a variety of engineering projects including the Mission San Luis Visitor Center and Franklin Boulevard. In addition to her professional practice, she serves on the FAMU-FSU College of Administration Civil Engineering Advisory Council and is a member of the College’s Adjunct Faculty.

Mahsan Mohseni
Board Member

Mahsan Mohsenin joined Florida A&M University as an Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture and Engineering Technology in Fall 2015. She earned her Ph.D. at North Carolina State University, where she contributed as Research Assistant at the Building Systems Integration Lab. Having a background in architecture, Mahsan was graduated with an MS in Architecture Studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011.

Her research interest includes Daylight Modeling and Simulation, Environmental Technology and Healthy Built Environments.

Luke Nicholson
Board Member

Luke Nicholson is President and Operations Manager for Nicholson Construction Company, a State of Florida Licensed General Contracting firm in Tallahassee specializing in Green Construction. Luke is a licensed Professional Engineer, and is also a faculty member at the Florida A & M University School of Architecture.
